Responsibilities
1. Backend Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure backend systems for web applications using the LAMP stack and Java.
2. API Development: Create and manage RESTful APIs and services to support front-end functionalities and mobile applications.
Database Management: Design and optimize database schemas, write efficient queries, and ensure data integrity and security.
3. Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
4. System Architecture: Collaborate in architectural decisions and contribute to the design of software solutions that meet business requirements and technical constraints.
5. Performance Optimization: Monitor, identify, and resolve performance issues to ensure high availability and scalability of applications.
6. Security: Implement and enforce security best practices, conduct regular security audits, and address vulnerabilities promptly.
7. Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
8. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers, UX/UI designers, product managers, and QA engineers, to deliver high-quality products.
Requirements
1. Education: Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
2. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in backend development, with a proven track record of successful projects.
3. Proficiency in PHP and Java, with a strong understanding of both languages' ecosystems.
4. Extensive experience with the LAMP stack: Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP.
5. Deep experience in at least one PHP web framework, such as Laravel.
6. Strong experience with database technologies like MySQL.
7. Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
8. Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
9. Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
10. Familiarity with web frontend technologies such as Vue.js or React.js.
11. Ability to lead projects independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines.
12. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a proactive mindset.
13. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.

Working Location: Toa Payoh (HDB Hub near Toa Payoh MRT Station)
